Drawing Performed is the title for a hybrid art form created by Eric Baylin that combines drawing, movement, and music. The performances are created through a collaboration between the drawers and musicians.  Anyone can participate without needing special skills as a dancer or an artist. The drawings are each based on simple arm and body movements.  The convergence of movements, marks, and music simultaneously creates a drawing "dance" performance. A group of Broadway musicians will  improvise to support and inspire the movement and the drawing.

Audience members of any age will have a chance to create their own art lead by artist Eric Baylin and accompanied by two of Broadway's most creative musicians, woodwind expert Andrew Sterman and percussionist extraordinaire Erik Charlston.

Meet the characters in Prokofiev’s well-known classic  Peter and the Wolf as a dynamic storyteller recounts this marvelous tale with the help of a woodwind quintet. Together they bring Peter, his Grandfather and all the delightful animals in the story to life. The program explores the magic of music by using the children’s imagination to compose a drama, picking the musical themes to match the characters.

The Sylvan Winds develops its educational projects to cultivate understanding and appreciation of instrumental music through direct contact with musicians.  Children are introduced to the spectrum of colors, richness of sound, and expressive qualities that wind instruments bring to the world of music. Educating children today will ensure the practice and appreciation of the arts tomorrow.
